Kathy Williams

Kathy Williams has built a career over more than three decades combining leadership with solid, progressive experience in operations, accounting, finance and financial systems. From her professional start in public accounting, Kathy advanced to senior finance positions with large companies, including seeing through complex, multi-billion-dollar merger transitions.
For 15 years, Kathy served as CFO, CAO and CQO at Zoo Atlanta. During this time, Kathy led Zoo Atlanta’s strategic planning effort to define a site strategy for the Zoo and helped develop and implement plans to partner with local governments to refinance and re-capitalize the Zoo. Through these efforts, Zoo Atlanta emerged debt-free for the first time in decades, raised funding for conservation commitments, and made a significant positive impact on future Zoo infrastructure.
Kathy also made lasting impacts on Zoo Atlanta’s ongoing success through her leadership in developing their new facility master and strategic business plans; contributions to efficiencies of peak season operations and quality improvements; and delivery of the largest sustainable energy and water conservation improvement project in Zoo history.
Over the last several years, Kathy has worked on a variety Zoo and Safari Park business and strategic planning projects.
A CPA and Cum Laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Accounting, Kathy is also involved in her community through her church with active roles in outreach and youth faith formation.
