Cathy Mousseau
SENIOR CONSULTANT
With decades of successful fundraising and business experience, Cathy Mousseau draws upon her deep knowledge of and connections to the philanthropic community to help her nonprofit clients build strong partnerships, develop strategic fundraising plans, and leverage resources to maximize their impact.
With RS&S, Cathy has led successful operating and capital campaigns as campaign manager for Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, Illinois. In this role, she developed a robust major gift program; grew annual giving by creating a giving society for leadership donors and developing two new appeals; and supported board development, establishing best practices and engaging board members in donor relationship building and stewardship.
Cathy also supports RS&S clients with trusted counsel and development planning through consulting projects including a development assessment for the Memphis Zoo.
As founder of Mousseau Consulting Group LLC, Cathy has successfully raised funds for many nonprofit clients including Northern Illinois Food Bank, Aspire, and People’s Resource Center. She also established fundraising best practices for Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry as its first development director.
For more than 20 years, Cathy has volunteered her time and talents to benefit her community. She has served on the boards of the Student Excellence Foundation, West Suburban Philanthropic Network, and United Way of Wheaton/Carol Stream. Cathy has also held several leadership positions within her church.
Cathy is a graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
